Renewable Energy

Renewable energy is defined as any power source that can generate electricity using only fuels that can be naturally replenished. The most popular forms of such energy are solar and wind, but biomass, geothermal, and ocean tides are also common used. The main point of these electricity sources is that they are a much more environmentally sound than are the more traditional fossil fuel-based energy systems.

Solar power is arguably the most popular renewable energy source currently available. It is widely used as a source of electricity for both residential and commercial applications, but can also be used for smaller-scale operations ranging from recreational vehicles to recharging your cellular phone. In fact, portable solar power is one of the fastest growing segments of the industry as a whole.

Wind power is also a popular form of renewable energy. Wind has been used to generate mechanical energy (think windmills) for centuries, but today it is primarily used to generate electricity. Wind is an ideal power supply for those that might live in rural areas that are away from any public grid system, but it can also be used for generating mass amounts of electricity for commercial applications as well.
